Founder Makes Forbes

M.J. Musey, the founder of STMT Media, was selected for this year’s annual Forbes Under 30 list for his achievement in narrative video game design and the creation of the multimedia brand that is STMT Media.

Amongst the other prestigious honorees for the Games list this year, Musey’s bio from Forbes is written as follows, “[M.J.] Musey is the first African-American narrative designer at any of Activision's studios, and one of the youngest people ever to get a writers credit on a AAA game. He was admitted into the Writers Guild of America West at the age of 21 for his work on "Call of Duty: Vanguard." Musey is also developing his own multimedia company STMT Media, a collection of story series focused on uplifting women, minority, & international voices in multimedia.”

Forbes goes on to describe their selection process and list status as follows, “In a terrible, topsy-turvy year, one thing remains constant: Tomorrow’s brightest young leaders are turning to entrepreneurship to solve the world’s biggest problems—on their own terms. The 600 bold founders, leaders and entrepreneurs on the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 list have launched creative companies to put a dent in issues like global warming, reproductive health, student debt and financial freedom.

To compile our 12th annual list, Forbes writers and editors—with the help of expert independent judges like Joe Jonas, Aimee Song, Bobbi Brown and Sid Sijbrandij—evaluated more than 12,000 candidates on factors including funding, revenue, social impact, inventiveness and potential. The 600 who made the cut are both an inspiration and a challenge to the conventional wisdom. Either way, they provide plenty of reason to believe that tomorrow will be brighter than today,” (Forbes, 2023).
